A century ago, Dr. Ossian Sweet and his family faced down an angry mob determined to drive them from their new home on Detroit's east side. With the help of renowned attorney Clarence Darrow, they won a landmark legal victory that established every American's right to defend their home. Today, a new memorial park honors their courage and sacrifice.
Flutter & Wow researched the Sweet family's story and designed the interpretive signage that brings this important chapter of civil rights history to life for visitors to the new Dr. Ossian Sweet Memorial Park on the corner of Charlevoix and Garland in Detroit.
